Since I have become a Certified Raw Nutritionist and have been eating a high raw food diet in the last five years, I have learned to pare down on toxic products in my life. I was never one to take any pain killers, aspirins or Ibuprofens never really were on my list to help me with a headache or swelling. I have always had some sort of intuitive nature to realize that there is a better way to heal the body. Well, when my 18 year old son got an oral infection, it’s always a debate whether or not to go to the emergency room. In this case, my son told me his tooth was hurting and his bottom jaw was swollen. I panicked because it was the week of New Years Eve and practically every dentist office was closed until next year.
I went into Super Mommy mode and remembered I had clove oil in my collection of essential oils. The first step I took was to put 1-2 drops on a q-tip and made him carefully swab his gums surrounding his tooth and the tooth itself. He had instant relief for now, so I gave him the oil so he could bring it to work with him. When he was at work, I scoured the internet for more remedies to help with his tooth. He had developed an abscess, so I had to prepare An array of products to help him. I made up a routine for him to follow that included brushing day and night with a combination of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and a drop of Oregano Oil. Next came, flossing and then immediately followed up with some Wheat Grass Pulling. I prepared a teaspoon of Wheat Grass that I bought at Sprouts and mixed it with filtered water in a shot glass. He swished it/ pulled it throughout his mouth for 5 min after brushing every morning and night. And lastly he then used the Oregano oil/ Clove oil to put on this tooth for pain. He kind of alternated with the two oils of his choice, but at night I had him use the gauze that was soaked in Oregano Oil while he slept. I also made made him clean up his diet!!! No sugars, white flours, meat, and processed foods. . Well, I can never know for sure if he followed the diet but I wanted his immunity to be strong. By the 2nd day his pain was more controlled. By New Years Day, the pain and swelling were gone. I WAS RELIEVED! AND SO WAS HE! I did make an appointment to the dentist, but its not till next week. I will weigh my options with him and see what needs to done. I am even more amazed by the power of essential oils and natural ways to help the body heal. We have it in us to heal ourselves!! Trust the process and it will happen!
